Designed by Mariana Pellegrino Soto in 2019, Amanita is a strikingly modern reading lamp distinguished by its sculptural elegance and functional precision. The design consists of two refined metal discs: the slender lower disc acts as a base, while the upper, more prominent disc houses an integrated LED light source.
These elements are connected by a sleek oblique Z-shaped stem, lending the lamp a distinctive architectural presence. Originally conceived as a reading lamp, Amanita seamlessly transforms into an outdoor path-light with adjusted proportions and premium weather-resistant materials.
Finished in a rich Indian brown, the outdoor version of Amanita harmonizes with gardens, pathways, and refined public spaces, blending timeless aesthetics with contemporary lighting technology.
Mariana Pellegrino Soto
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Mariana Pellegrino Soto developed an early passion for design. She graduated from the prestigious Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome, where her talent flourished. During her studies, she won the Best Packaging Award in the 2016 Global Bottled Water Awards, marking her as an emerging designer to watch.
In collaboration with Oluce, her thesis project was brought to life, solidifying her role in the industry. Now a design developer at F&N Compositi, she continues to shape contemporary lighting and product design with her innovative approach.
